The Total Rec Skatepark committee is dedicated to providing marginalized skateboarders / youth a place to skateboard without being kicked out or fined.
We understatnd that the skateboarders here in Streator have no place to skate and therefore congregate in parking lots and store fronts. Because of this skateboarders are considered a nuiscance to business owners and town people.
We believe that we can provide a safe envirioment for skateboarders and in turn build momentum towards building a top notch facility for skateboarders in Streator.
Through fundraising we hope to build ramps in the parking lot next door to the Total Rec in order to have a skateboarding event this summer of '08
If you are a skateboarder and tired of not having a good place to skate then get involved. This is the only way that we as skateboarders are going to have a descent place to hone our skills and just have fun.
